ANALYSIS OF THE URBAN PLAN OF SALAMANCA

The city to analyse is Salamanca.
Salamanca is located in the Norther Sub-Plateau.It was founded in the hill of San Vicente. It has a concentric layout organized around Door of Salamanca's Main Square. In the Middle Age it was protected by two walls. One with center in square of Azogue Viejo and the other with center in Main Square. Some of the most importants buildings are the Two Cathedrals,The House of Shells and the Main Square. The main urban functions of the Historic Center are political, comercial and touristic. Some of the problems that affect the History Center are: the traffic and rubbish. The pattern of the expasion zone is orthogonal. There have been lots of important changes in the organization of the expansion zone. An example of these changes are the streets, now they are straight and wide. The main urban function is residential. A big problem that affects this part of the city is the difficulty to move around the city. And a solution could be adding more public transport or subterranean roads for vehicules. In the outskirts we can find residential areas. There are also industrial and business areas. The main transportation networks in this area are roads. The principal problem that affects the outskirts of the city is its own integration,a solution could be build freetime buildings to attract people.

  1. -Add the picture of the urban plan you are describing.
    - The picture plan shows a concentric layout organized around Door of Zamora? Are you sure? The radial pattern is organized around Salamanca's Main Square.
    - The rest of the analysis is not accurate and does not reflect a serious and honest work.
    - Add all of the above to the fact that the assignment was turned in late.
